Magazine Cover
I first opened up Photoshop with a blank A4 page and then from there I placed my main image and started placing my title and headings around the empty spaces of the photo. Once happy with my title and cover lines I then created a reel in order to place my films and advertise my very own trailer. From here, this stage allowed me to insert the images in the location that felt most fitted. This helped me play around with the font for my text- however I often changed the colour of my reel as I found there to be too much blue, therefore I changed it to a light almost transparent black which made the red and yellow text become eye catching.
What I followed from other existing magazines were the masthead- often the main image is placed in font of the title which suggest that the magazine is more of a popular read/ buy. Therefore when it came to designing my masthead I ensured that I followed a typical conventions of a film magazine, as I found this layout to appear professional and pleasing on the eye.
As my film is placed within the reel and not used as my main image was for two reasons, one being that most of the codes and conventions had a celebrity and aside them, had up and coming films, and as my film is not released of yet encouraged me to place the three images for different films alongside my main image. Secondly, as my film is only used as a seek peek I did not feel as if it was best suited to display it as a main image.
